A Bit About Me
Welcome and thank you for stopping by to have a look at my work. My galleries are currently under construction and will be back up soon.
I am Erik Eilers, a photographer focusing primarily on wall art. Based in San Diego for nearly 20 years now, it is where my wife, two young boys and puppy dog call home.
Coming from a varied background, I have been fortunate to get to some pretty awesome places. I have always had an interest in photography, but it wasn't until after college that I could afford my first film SLR camera. Science and traveling is how I was first introduced into the world of photography after college, in my first career. I earned my degree in Engineering, Math and Meteorology from the University of Maryland. Shortly after graduation, I entered the NOAA Corps where I operated an oceanographic research ship, was a dive master and assisted the onboard scientists with their studies of coral reefs, seals, whales and dolphins. Getting to some pretty remote areas, I started shooting film on my first SLR camera.
Fast forward a bit, I shot weddings for 10 years, as well as family portraits, and still do a few family portraits here and there, but my true love in photography is capturing the world in which we live.
I hope you enjoy looking at my work. If you have any questions or would like to chat a bit about what would look great on your wall, feel free to contact me here, Contact.
