1st Child on the Way

Wednesday, 29. August 2007 4:44

My wife, Jennifer, is about to bring our first child into the world. Today we are one week away from our expected due date. She is doing great! I cannot imagine having my body go through what hers has in the past 39 weeks. It is truly amazing to watch the changes, and she still lets me annoy her with my camera. Before we know it we will be watching changes of a different kind, whatever his name might be?? Can’t wait to see the little guy.

Happy Day on the Way!

Welcome to My World

Thursday, 23. August 2007 4:44

Well, I am not really sure how to start these things, so I guess I will start by welcoming you to my photography site and blog. I imagine this will just be the place were I can ramble on about what I have been shooting recently and life in general. Having never been very good at keeping my travel journals, I hope this will be a little different, as it is a bit more interactive and I hope to hear from all of you out there who have taken interest in my photography and care to send any questions or comments my direction. I am going to aim for weekly updates, so check back occasionally to see what I have been doing. For those of you who have visited my old site, you will notice there have been drastic changes in the layout. There were a few reasons for this, but mainly, I tend to get tired of looking at the same thing day in and day out, and thought it needed a refresh…plus I have always liked the flash interface.
For this first post I am only going to post one image that I shot recently. The photographer is me, and the rider is me as well. I devised a way to mix my two passions, and it turns out that I came home with some really cool images. In this shot, I am cruising along on some of my local trails at about 20-25mph. I was hoping to convey the feeling of speed with this image and I think it worked out well. With the ground streaking by, the angle of the horizon in the upper right corner and a touch of motion blur in my hand and cables, I can almost feel what it is like to ride this trail just by looking at the photo. I hope you feel the same way. Thank you for looking…
